The Quality Assurance Workgroup has been hard at work and has awarded the following transcripts for May Exemplary Reference Awards. Exemplary Brief Chat: Jaimie Goldman, Ask a Librarian Intern.
Although this Chat was entered under the brief category and help was quickly given, Jaimie guided a student to excellent college resources for education topics (reading coaches)!
Exemplary Detailed Chat: Sarah Hamill, Florida International University.
Sarah assisted a student who was trying to find a medical coding book also encouraging the student to do some searches. Although the news on finding an up-to-date book on the topic was not favorable, the student was grateful for the time and effort that Sarah gave in working with her.
Exemplary Teaching Chat:Rachel Mulvihill, University of Central Florida.
Helped a student locate articles for her paper and learn about the APA 6th edition. Rachel worked very effectively with a student from a different college than her own and led the student to the correct database for an education topic. Rachel even suggested keywords that the student could use to search the topic. Good interaction and teaching!
