August Exemplary Reference Awards

The Quality Assurance Workgroup has been hard at work and has awarded the following transcripts for August Exemplary Reference Awards. Transcripts were awarded in three categories: Best Detailed Chat, Best Brief Chat, and Best Teaching Chat.  The three winning transcripts are at:

Brief Exemplary Chat
Katie Tyler, Winter Park Public Library
Katie T led a college student first to the Florida Electronic Library resources and then found excellent web resources in a search for information on another country’s health system. Very fast and good leads for a college student doing research!

Detailed Exemplary Chat
Tina Peaks, Lake Wales Public Library
Not only did Tina provide this patron with excellent titles for her daughter, but  her courteous demeanor and time spent was a nice welcome for a new patron to Florida and the Ask A Librarian service.

Teaching Detailed Chat
Kimberly Reycraft, Florida Gulf Coast University Library
Kimberly R. was welcoming to a student who logged in again and now wanted to learn how to use her college’s resources. Kimberly patiently explained how to search for information using a quality database that the student could access giving tips on getting good results.  Kimberly earned her “Thank you” from the student and responded with “it has been fun working with you.” Good interaction!
