Ask a Librarian March Madness Month
Where each day brings a surprising fact, a fun activity, or an Ask a Librarian award … and a chance to brag about our incredible services!
Two weeks ago, Ask a Librarian celebrated our 2nd Annual Ask a Librarian Day. It was a huge success. On Tuesday alone, use was 35% higher than the previous Tuesday and overall we experienced a 51% increase in use from the previous February.
Libraries celebrated in different ways. At many libraries, librarians donned pins, t-shirts and gave out bookmarks, lanyards and most importantly talked about the service. A few libraries really pulled out the stops with displays, posters and baked goods! This March Madness Award is for them! This was a tough choice – however, there was one librarian that really pulled out all the stops- Charlyn Hill from Citrus County. She is the recipient of the “I’ve Got AAL Spirit!” Award for her reference booth!
While this award goes to one person, I cannot stress how wonderful it was to see such great displays and enthusiasm throughout the state!
